Grits

Kasza

Ingredients

  • 1 cup buck wheat grits
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 2 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Method

Mix the grits and egg together thoroughly and cook over medium flame, stirring constantly until the kernels are separated and the mixture hard and dry. Add boiling water, butter and salt. Cover tightly and cook over low heat about 20 minutes. The grits must be dry when done, not damp.
