This recipe was contributed by Mrs A. Thornton of Hurlstone Park in Sydney. It won her a large silver cup in a special competition held in September 1930 to raise money for the Deaf Dumb and Blind Institute at Darlington. To qualify for the lucrative championship prize, cooks had to win at one of a series of fortnightly parties.
