Most of my French girlfriends will have a nutty tart in their recipe collection, either a sticky, pecanny sweet pie, or something drier and fluffier, like this one, involving ground almonds. It’s a love affair between coffee and walnuts; great with tea and coffee, or slightly more sophisticated, as a dessert. Of all the nuts, walnuts are the ones that are usually found in my larder - they keep for ages.
