Rum babas are little sponge cakes soaked with rum. Normally you would buy these in in a good épicerie fine or make them at home, but I am quite fond of the jarred ones - the cake to rum ratio of the jarred variety is very much in favour of the rum. So I always have a jar of them in my larder. They’re easy to serve, one or two per person, they stay lovely and moist as they’ve been soaking in the jar for a while.
