Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F/Gas 4).
Wash and dry the tomatoes. Halve them lengthways and, with a teaspoon, gently scoop out the flesh and seeds. Finely chop and put into a bowl. Put the tomato halves in an oven dish, cut side up. Lightly season with salt.
