I grow chard all year round – it’s the only food I seem able to consistently, successfully manage to cultivate. It survives frost, snow, wind, neglect and slug invasions, and packs a hefty healthy dose of essential vitamins. It’s beautiful, too – get the rainbow and rhubarb varieties for a pop of colour on your plate no matter what the season. This simple recipe is my favourite way to serve it.
