  • cups sifted flour
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg</

Method

Combine all dry materials and sift. Separate egg. Cream butter and sugar together; add combined egg yolk and milk alternately with combined dry material; fold in stiffly beaten whites of egg. Place in shallow cake tin. Bake for half hour in moderate oven. Serve with Hard Sauce.
