  • 1 pound flour
  • ½ pound butter
  • ½ teaspoon

Method

Mix flour and baking powder. Rub in butter as for biscuits. Work in the sugar and flavoring. This gives a rather crumbly dough. Work with hands to make it adhere, pat out in cakes, sprinkle with caraway seeds. Bake in moderate oven. Very rich.
