Pakoray is a popular snack and another essential item on a Pakistani iftar table. Abbo used to say that an iftar in Ramzan /Ramadan is incomplete without pakoray. It is also associated with rainy weather, and as soon as it would start drizzling, the ambiance calls for pakoray with chai.

Ingredients

Set 1: For Pakora Batter

  • cups Gram Flour
  • 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
  • ¼

Method

Make the batter for the pakoray by mixing all the ingredients for the pakora batter (set 1) with a little water. Keep it aside for a couple of hours.

For the potato or eggplant pakoray, coat the vegetable slices in the batter and deep-fry on medium heat.

For mixed pakoray, add the onions, coriander leaves, and green chillies to the batter and deep-fry.
