I enjoy a good marinara sauce more than any other, and this one is perfect for fettucine.
Heat the oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the garlic and onion. Cover and cook, stirring occasionally, for 7-10 minutes, or until the garlic and onion are light brown but not burned. Add the remaining ingredients and stir well to mix. Cover and bring to a medium boil (this should take about 5 minutes), stirring occasionally. Cook for about 20 minutes, or until the sauce reduces slightly. Taste for seasonings.
