Drain the beans and rinse under cold water, then drain again. Turn them into a bowl. Add the olive oil, chopped onion, meatless bacon, brown sugar, molasses, maple syrup, and mustard. Grate the zest from about one-third of the orange and add about atablespoon of the orange zest to the bowl. Into a separate bowl, squeeze the juice from the orange, picking out any seeds, then add the juice to the bowl with the beans. Sprinkle lightly with sea salt and pepper. Toss well, using two wooden spoons to combine. Taste for seasonings.
Spray a 3-quart glass baking dish with olive oil or organic canola oil spray. Turn the bean mixture into the prepared baking dish. Cover the dish tightly with foil. Bake in the preheated oven for about 45 minutes, until beans are hot and bubbling.
