We make a variety of frosting flavors at Claire’s and often let our customers pick their favorite to top their cake or cupcake. Wouldn’t it be fun to have a party and do the same thing? They are so quick to prepare, too.


  • 1 stick butter or ½ cup trans fat-free margarine, brought to room temperature
  • 2 cups organic confectioners’ sugar, sifted
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon organic blackstrap molasses


Place the butter in a medium bowl. Using a hand mixer on medium speed, beat the butter for about 3 minutes, until light and fluffy, stopping once or twice to scrape the sides of the bowl with a rubber spatula. Add the powdered sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and molasses. Beat on low speed for about 2 minutes, then on high speed for about 3 minutes, stopping a couple of times to scrape down the sides of the bowl, until light and creamy.
