Method

Cook the haricots as usual, but add, besides, half a dozen tomatoes, skin and pips removed, and cut in quarters, also one small piece of garlic, and let the whole thing simmer longer so that it is all well mixed, mellowed and rather over-cooked. This is a delicious accompaniment to grilled French sausages, which should be put in, already cooked, just for two minutes before serving.
