Method

Take out of the pot-au-feu four or five carrots, mash them through a very fine sieve. Prepare a consommé with tapioca (which is done simply by dropping a tablespoonful of tapioca in the bouillon when it boils and cooking it five or six minutes, the tapioca in this case being the refined French kind, very fine). It should not be too thick. To this add your mashed carrots, bring to the boil once, whipping well.
