This pie, or pastel, has accompanied me on many excursions with rod and gun. It uses the same stuffing as you will find in the cabbage. Occasionally, I will serve this hot from the oven alongside a rib of beef. Pushed around in gravy, it is a highly effective mopper-upper and stylish alternative to Yorkshire pudding or potatoes.
