Made this to offer to the audience at ckbk's in person event with Eleanor Ford and Orlando Murrin at the North London Book Festival. It seemed to go down very well. Clove is the star or the show for a change here, rather than being a bit player. The bramley apple and the crunchy brown sugar provide the perfect backdrop for cloves to show their stuff. Great served warm with ice cream as a dessert, but also very good just with a cup of tea.
