Method

‘It is extremely difficult to pick wild strawberries in any kind of quantity but if you take the trouble they are well worthwhile. Toss the fruit with a dash of Kirsch and a sprinkle of caster sugar, leave for an hour or so to soak up the flavour and then serve with cream.
