Vanilla and chestnut belong together, the floral complexity beautiful with the fudgy nuts. Here is a 5-minute, no-churn ice cream made using the sweetened chestnut purée available in tins or tubes, often sold as chestnut cream. It is then drowned, Italian style, with a shot of espresso so the bitter heat melts and swirls into cold, sweet cream.
