If there’s no rum in the cupboard, that item can be omitted from the filling of these miniature nut pies; however, it does add a subliminal something to the combination of pecans and brown sugar. If you delete the rum, increase the vanilla to ½ teaspoon, a better strategy than using artificial rum flavorings.


Cookie Dough

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F, with an oven rack in the center position. Cut two 12 x 16-inch sheets of aluminum foil. Cut the foil into 24 squares measuring 4 x 4 inches each. Set them aside.
