  • 1 cup rice
  • cups water

Method

Wash rice thoroughly in several changes of water, until there is no cloudiness. Put the rice in a pot, add the water, and bring to a boil. Boil 5 minutes with the lid off. Turn the flame lower and let the water boil away. Then turn the flame to its lowest point, put on the lid, and heat 20 minutes without stirring. A crust should form at the bottom, but it should not burn.
