There’s just enough of a nod of autumn in this to bring out the best of the plums, while keeping things light and feeling like the end of summer. The five-spice and plums marry delightfully, though cinnamon, ginger or mixed spice are very good if you fancy a change.
Place the plum halves cut side up on a baking tray, sprinkle with five-spice powder and lay the thyme sprigs across them.
