Frankly, homemade booze doesn’t get any better than this. The first time you make it, make two lots – you’ll drink one before it’s really at its best as it will taste so good and because you don’t yet know that it will be even better after a year.
Quarter-fill a sterilised jar with caster sugar, then tip it out into a bowl. Half-fill the jar with mulberries, tip on the sugar, then top up with vodka.
Now sit on your hands until next autumn if you can.
