There is the equivalent of a secret handshake that goes on between those who have made blackberry whisky. If you’re in the clan and see someone picking blackberries, you are compelled to ask whether they’ve tried this recipe and to pass it on if they haven’t. If they have, you are forever bonded. Sad but true. It is a pairing as peculiar as it is delicious — everyone loves it, but once it’s matured you’d never know it has either blackberry or whisky in it.
