The first time I made sugar plums, I dropped one and it almost hit the dog on the back of the head, he was so fast in snaffling it. Everyone, even Harris, likes sugar plums it seems. The spices give it just the right amount of autumn for October and few things go so well with a coffee.

Method

Briefly zap the nuts in a food processor to break them up into small pieces. Add the dates, apricots, prunes, orange zest, salt and spices and pulse to blend until minced together to form a thick paste. Transfer to a bowl and allow to rest for a few minutes.
