Mixing ingredients is as critical to the quality of the final product as any other portion of the process. If this strikes you as a surprise, I encourage you to take just a moment to consider this scenario: What if you took a bite of your favorite bread and all you tasted was salt? It’s definitely not what you expected, and even if you are a saltlover like me, I seriously doubt that it would entice anyone to sink her teeth into the crust again. Although this may be an extreme example, it does illustrate the importance of properly combining and mixing ingredients. But even more significant, the ingredients must work in harmony in order to produce a high-quality product, and mixing them in the right manner will help to make this a reality.
