Steaming carrots is the healthy option and very quick and easy. Cut into slices or batons – they’ll take 10–15 minutes to steam, depending on how al dente you like them. Serve immediately, drizzled with a little olive oil and seasoned, or plunge them into a bowl of iced water to keep the colour vibrant.
