Pumpkin and Squash: Storage

Appears in
Autumn and Winter Cooking with a Veg Box (Riverford Companions)

  • About
Squash and pumpkin like to be kept dry and warm, ideally above 14°C. A kitchen shelf is ideal – our mixed squash box makes a colourful rustic autumn display along the kitchen shelf or windowsill. Thin-skinned varieties such as butternut will store well for up to three months; the harder-skinned types like crown prince can last up to 12 months. Once you’ve cut them, keep the remainder in the fridge and use within a week.
