Long, Straight Palette Knife

This is so handy for so many things: icing a cake, flattening off batter or easing a baked cake out of its tin. Nothing else is as good for icing a cake, but you could use everyday cutlery for everything else. For example, the back of a soup spoon is great for smoothing batter, and you can use a butter knife to take cake out of the tin.
