Pandan is often referred to as the vanilla of Asia. It has the scent of floral grass and tastes a bit like coconut. You can get it fresh, frozen and in extract form. Even though I am not a huge fan of extracts, the pandan one tastes pretty good and is easier to use in any pastry.
