Decorating a Cake with Buttercream

When it is at the right temperature, neither hot nor cold, buttercream has the perfect consistency for piping with a pastry bag. If it gets hot and runny, cool it in the refrigerator for 10 to 15 minutes. It is fine to chill it right in the pastry bag.
