Steps of the Blending Method for Cakes

Make sure all ingredients are at room temperature before beginning.
  1. Sift all of the dry ingredients.
  2. Combine the dry ingredients and fat in a mixing bowl. Use a hand mixer or stand mixer to combine for about 1 minute.
  3. Add the eggs and any extracts.
  4. Slowly add in the rest of the liquid with the mixer running on medium speed.
  5. Finish mixing for about 1 minute to thoroughly combine.
  6. Transfer to the prepared pan(s) and bake.
