Appears in

  • About
  1. Warm about ½ cup (120 milliliters) of the liquid called for in the recipe to 110–115°F/43–46°C, which is just barely warmer than body temperature.

  2. Add about ½ teaspoon of sugar and the yeast to the liquid. Stir it all together and wait about 5–10 minutes.

  3. The yeast mixture should begin foaming and bubbling up. If you do not see foaming, then you need to get some new yeast. If you do see foaming, use the yeast in your recipe immediately.
