Abacaxi

Brazilian Tupi Indian name for pineapple, of which there are many varieties, both wild and cultivated, that vary in size from standard to miniature. Exceptionally sweet and flavorful, the pineapple is indigenous to Brazil. It is to Brazil what the apple is to the United States.
