  • About
The Intha live in settlements near Inle Lake and in “floating villages” on the lake. They speak an old version of Burmese (they probably moved to the Inle region from somewhere south). They are known for cultivating tomatoes hydroponically on their floating islands, as well as for their technique of leg-rowing while standing up.
