  • About

The nutmeg tree, Myristica fragrans, is native to the Moluccas, the Spice Islands of Indonesia, but is now grown elsewhere too. Nutmeg spice is the seed or nut of the fruit of the tree. The seed is covered by a lacy outer layer, which is the spice called mace. The aromatic nut is best freshly ground on a fine grater.
