Rosella

Hibiscus sabdariffa, a tropical plant grown for its fleshy red sepals which are used to make drinks, jam and jelly. It is available in the islands, fresh at Christmas time, but all year round in its dried form. It is also known as sorrel, and flor de Jamaica. Sorrel syrup is available in tropical food shops and can be used instead of the fresh or dried sepals.
