Pork floss, also known as rousong, yuk sung, or meat floss, is a shredded, dried meat product that looks like cotton candy, except it’s slightly salty and savory. It has that intense meat flavor, reminiscent of meat jerky, with a hint of sweetness at the end. It’s a delicious garnish on dishes like jook, or Savory Morning Oats with Jammy Eggs and Pork Floss, and is often used as a filling for sticky rice rolls, fan tuan.
