  • About

Organic chocolate is produced from cocoa beans which are grown without pesticides, chemicals or artificial fertilisers. On the back of every Green & Black’s Organic Chocolate you will find the company’s pledge “Dark Chocolate has more cocoa mass (solids) and less sugar than you will find in other dark chocolate - and it’s organic too. Your support for organic growers helps to make the world a better place”. Although most organic chocolate tends to have a stronger chocolatey flavour this has nothing to do with the fact that the cocoa is grown organically because, again, it is the variety of the bean, where and how it is grown that makes the difference. Duchy Originals, which is the company established in 1990 to encourage more sustainable methods of farming and food production, is also using an organic chocolate for most of its dark chocolate products which commit the company to the same principles.
