Make sure that your cloth is well coated in flour and the string tied tightly so no water can get in.
Lay the boiled cloth out flat and dust generously with flour. Using your hand, smooth the flour evenly onto the cloth. Place the pudding mixture into the centre of the cloth.
Gather the cloth tightly around the mixture and twist it as tightly as you can to force the mixture into a round ball shape. Tie string around the twisted cloth, as tightly and as close to the pudding as possible.
