Eruca vesicaria sativa Cruciferae

CULTIVATION Rocket is a half-hardy annual with mid-green, tongue-shaped leaves and creamy-white, four-petalled flowers. It grows up to 60cm (2ft) tall and prefers moist, fertile soil and sun or light shade. Sow seeds every few weeks from early spring, thinning seedlings to 15 cm (6in) apart. Harvest the leaves at any time and the flowers from midsummer. A garden, border, container and conservatory herb.
