CULTIVATION A tender evergreen perennial with highly-scented, green or variegated decorative leaves, usually toothed or deeply cut, and white or pale pink flowers from midsummer. It grows to a height of 30cm-1m (1-3ft) and prefers gritty potting compost in full sun or light shade. Propagate it by sowing seeds or taking tip cuttings in spring or late summer. Harvest the leaves and edible flowers all year round. An excellent garden, border, container or window-box herb that can be also be grown indoors quite easily.
