CULTIVATION Rosemary is a hardy evergreen with aromatic, needle-shaped, grey-green leaves and scented, blue, white, pink or mauve flowers that appear from early spring and at any time during mild weather. Reaching 30cm-2m (1-6ft), it prefers slightly limy, well-drained soil and a sheltered position in full sun. Propagate it by sowing seeds in spring or by taking tip cuttings during summer and early autumn. Plant them 45 cm-1m (18-36in) apart. Harvest the leaves and flowers at any time.

An attractive and extremely versatile garden, border, hedging and container herb.
