  • About

CULTIVATION A hardy evergreen perennial with, aromatic, mid-green leaves, similar in shape to an oak leaf, and mauve-pink flowers from midsummer. It grows to a height of 10-20cm (4-8in) and prefers well-drained soil and full sun. Propagate it by sowing seeds or taking cuttings in late spring or by dividing the plant in early autumn, planting them 30cm (1ft) apart. Harvest the leaves at any time but principally during midsummer, and the flowers when they are available. An attractive garden, edging and container herb.
