  • About

CULTIVATION A deciduous tree, the lime has heart-shaped, mid-green, glossy leaves and scented, creamy-yellow flowers with yellow-green flattened false petals like bracts from midsummer. It grows up to 10m (33ft) high and prefers moist, moderately fertile soil and full sun or light shade. Propagate it by sowing seeds or taking stem cuttings in spring, planting them 10m (33ft) apart. Harvest the flowers as soon as they bloom in midsummer, dry them in a dark, airy place and store in a screw-top jar.
