  • About

CULTIVATION This hardy herbaceous perennial has spear-shaped, bright green leaves and pink, white or rose-coloured flowers from midsummer. Growing to a height of 60cm-1.5 m (2-5 ft), it prefers poor, well-drained soil and full sun. It attracts earthworms, so use it in mixed borders and vegetable gardens. Propagate it by sowing seeds in spring or by dividing the plant in autumn, planting them 60cm (2ft) apart. Harvest the leaves and flowers from spring to autumn whenever they are available. A useful garden, border, container and conservatory herb.
