  • About

CULTIVATION This hardy deciduous perennial has small, green or purple, heart-shaped leaves and perfumed, velvety flowers of purple or white appearing during spring. It grows 10 to 15 cm (4 to 6in) high and prefers fertile, moist soil and light shade. Propagate it from its runners or by dividing the plant during early autumn or late spring. Harvest the leaves and flowers whenever they are available. A pretty, traditional garden, border or edging herb.
