Other terms used to describe these are silky, fruity, creamy, elegant, ripe, and easy-drinking. They typically have a little more golden color and slightly more alcohol (13 percent or so). They also often have some oak aging. Typical aromas and flavors are apple (green and sweet), citrus, banana, and, if aged in oak, toasty, spicy, vanilla, nutty, and clove. Popular varieties made in this style are Chardonnay, Sauvignon/Fume Blanc, Pinot Blanc, and Pinot Gris.
