(lit: butter) product obtained by churning milk or cream. There are several different types of butter: beurre demi-sel (duh mee SELL) lightly salted butter; contains up to 5% salt.
Beurre déshydraté (dez EE drah tay) butter fat or butter-oil, contains up to 99.3% fat and 0.7% water, beurre fermier (FAIRM yay) farm-fresh butter.
