Acorn Squash

The acorn squash is commonly classified as a winter squash; however, it is in fact a summer squash like zucchini. The acorn squash is ridged from top to bottom and is shaped like an acorn. The flesh of this squash is sweet and yellow to orange in color. The skin is usually dark green, but with new varieties on the market, you may find some that are white or golden yellow.
