Cranberry

The cranberry is indigenous to the Northern Hemisphere. It is a wetland fruit that grows in bogs. Cranberries grow on low, creeping vines with wiry stems and evergreen-like leaves. The vines grow and thrive in a special combination of soils and nutrients that is specific to wetlands. The wetlands act like a sponge, storing and purifying water, making them nutrient rich.

Cranberries are white until fully matured, when they develop their characteristic color. Depending on the variety, the cranberry can be a light pink or a bright red hue. The cranberry possesses a tart taste that overpowers its delicate sweetness.
